Healthy School Products

Schools across Australia are looking for healthy food and drinks to sell in their canteens and rely on the Healthy Kids Product Registration Scheme to assist them.

The Healthy Kids Product Registration Scheme is the leading food and drink registration programme for school canteens. It is highly regarded and trusted by canteen managers to assist them make healthy menu choices, easily.

School canteen managers can be confident that registered products have been independently assessed by the Healthy Kids Food Industry Team dietitians and nutritionists, meet the Healthy Kids Nutrient Criteria and are better choices for their school canteen. On average, each year there are  over  900 Healthy Kids Registered Products.

The majority of registered products are compliant with state government healthy school canteen strategies (Some registered product categories are not permitted in SA).

Healthy Kids registered products are listed in the Healthy Kids School Canteen Buyers’ Guide that is distributed free of charge to schools across Australia (select schools in WA). The Buyers’ Guide is published annually in January for the start of the school year. A Buyers’ Guide supplement, containing additional registered products is published and sent out to schools for the beginning of Term 3.
