Apple crumble

Serves 4
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 100g poly- or mono-unsaturated margarine
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds, walnuts or hazelnuts (optional)
- 1 x 800g can apple
- ½ cup sultanas (optional)
Method
- Preheat oven to 180°C
- Combine the flour, sugar, butter and oats in a bowl
- Use your fingertips to rub the margarine into the flour mixture until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs and then stir in the nuts
- Spoon the apple into a 1.5L (6-cup) capacity ovenproof dish and sprinkle over sultanas
- Scatter the crumble mixture evenly over the apples
- Bake in oven until golden (approx. 20-25 mins)
- Serve with reduced fat custard
