Healthy homemade frozen snacks

This summer, cool off by making these delicious and healthy homemade frozen snacks. If you follow the recipes below, they are considered a GREEN food and can be served in school canteens.

Real fruit icy poles

Makes 6

Ingredients:

  • 6 icy pole moulds
  • 1 cup of any fruit you like – strawberries, mango, blueberries, cherries, kiwi fruit, pineapple or seedless grapes work well
  • 2 cups 99% fruit juice of your choice

Method:

  1. Cut fruit into chunks and place in the moulds, filling about half way.
  2. Pour in fruit juice to the top of the mould and place in the freezer overnight.
  3. When ready to serve, run some warm water over the mould and gently slide icy pole out.

Strawberry and banana smoothie icy poles

Makes 6

Ingredients:

  • 6 icy pole moulds
  • 1 banana
  • 200g reduced fat strawberry yoghurt
  • 2 cups reduced fat milk

Method:

  1. Blend banana, yoghurt and milk together.
  2. Pour into moulds and place in the freezer overnight.
  3. When ready to serve, run some warm water over the mould and gently slide icy pole out.
