Healthy party food ideas

Birthdays don’t have to be laden with chips, sausages, hotdogs and lollies. Healthy party food can be just as enticing and exciting for children. Plus, it won’t fill them up on sugar! These fun, nutritious ideas are a great way to get entice your children to eat healthy foods.
1) Dip and veggie sticks
Fill small cups with hommus with veggie sticks ready to go.
2) Fruit boat
Make an exciting fruit-filled centrepiece for your party!
3) Fruit skewers and fruit cups
4) Yoghurt and jelly cups
Jelly made with 99% fruit juice. Serve topped with fruit; or serve on top of reduced-fat Greek yoghurt with fruit on top.
5) Pizza pinwheels
Roll out dough to around 1cm thick, top with reduced-salt tomato paste, finely chopped lean meats and vegetables, and sprinkle with cheese. Roll up tightly and cut into slices about 2cm wide. Lay flat on lined trays and bake at 180°C for 15 minutes or until golden.
