Bone Appetit

Yields8 Servings

 1 ½ cups plain flour
 1 tsp instant dried yeast
 ½ tsp salt
 2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
 150 ml water
 ¾ cup grated cheese, reduced-fat
1

Add all of the ingredients (excluding cheese) into a bowl and with a spoon, mix into a dough

2

Sprinkle flour across a clean surface and knead the dough for about 5 minutes until elastic (keep adding flour as you need, to stop the dough from sticking to your hands and the surface you are working on)

3

Place the dough in a bowl, cover with a tea towel and set aside in a warm spot for around 15-20 minutes

4

Preheat oven to 200°C

5

On a floured surface, knead the dough for a few more seconds then with a rolling pin (or your hands), flatten into a long, thin rectangular shape

6

Sprinkle cheese along one of the two longest edges of the dough rectangle. Roll the dough up, so that your dough now looks like a snake filled with cheese. Cut the dough snake into 8 even pieces

7

Cut a slit into both ends of each dough piece. Roll the dough slits back to create a "bone" appearance

8

Once you have shaped your bones, place onto a lined baking tray and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and crunchy

9

Serve by itself or add tomato sauce for a "bloody" touch!
